Wing Luke Asian Museum's 2006 Annual Dinner & Auction: 40th Anniversary Celebration

Over 650 guests joined in the museum's 40th Anniversary celebration at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. Another record-breaking event, raising over $385,000 for Museum operations. Original works of art by renowned artists, trips to Tuscany and Africa, a martini party with Deems, and Oprah tickets - who could ask for more?

New Museum Blessing Ceremony
September 10, 2005
On September 10th, 2005, the Wing Luke Asian Museum hosted a Blessing Ceremony for its future home, the East Kong Yick building (on the South side of King Street, between 8th & 7th Avenue). The Blessing Ceremony honored the lives and legacies of the early Chinese pioneers who built the East Kong Yick building almost 100 years ago and honored the lives of those who lived in it until World War II. A blessing of song, dance, and spoken word followed.

Wing Luke Asian Museum's 2005 Annual Dinner & Art Auction: Year of the Rooster, Reviving the Pioneer Spirit
March 12, 2005
Held at the Westin Hotel in Seattle, the 2006 celebration of the Year of the Rooster proved to be a fun and fruitful event. Highlights: a Nakashima table, a Fay Chong watercolor, and a signed Jimi Hendrix Tribute Concert guitar!

Celebrating Family: An Evening with Senator Paul Shin
October 19, 2004
Exhibit organizers presented a progress report on the exhibit to our guests, guest speakers Lillian Thogersen and Christina Johnson gave testimonies on how much this exhibit means to them and the Asian American and Pacific Islander adoptee community, and Senator Paull Shin shared his personal story of how he was adopted and his experience as a parent of adoptees.
