#iconic: Power and Pop Culture explores the faces, personalities and people who are local heroes, famous stars, new voices and historic trailblazers. From Bruce Lee to Amy Tan, from Margaret Cho to Tiger Woods, from George Takei to Blue Scholars, this exhibit asks what does it mean to be an icon? #iconic examines the representations of Asian Pacific Americans — or lack thereof — in the media, especially social media, and the ways race, gender, popularity and community reveal who is an icon and why.
