The Wing Luke Asian Museum created a bibliography listing to assist teacher, students, and the general public in their Asian Pacific American research projects. The following bibliography is arranged according to ethnicity, age or grade for ease of locating information. Some of these books and publications are out-of-print, but may be found in libraries or used bookstores.
A separate bibliography listing for the Japanese American Curriculum Kit contents is located within the section on Japanese Americans.
A Southeast Asia bibliography by country/ethnicity and age that covers books, folk tales, audio and video resources, and resources for teachers is the last section of this list.

The story of Mu Lan, the legendary female warrior who impersonated a man in order to join the military, is derived from a poem written during the Sung Dynasty in China. While this would be a wonderful text to use in class because it features a powerful historical woman, both Cambodia and Vietnam have a history of political conflict with China so teachers would need to be sensitive to possible interethnic negative reactions.
