BOOK TALK: THOSE WHO HELPED US: ASSISTING JAPANESE AMERICANS DURING THE WAR

Thursday, February 17, 2022 | 7 PM PST | ZOOM

Join author Ken Mochizuki and illustrator Kiku Hughes for a virtual book preview of the new graphic novel, Those Who Helped Us: Assisting Japanese Americans During the War.

This story is told through the eyes of a basketball-loving Sumiko Tanaka, an 11-year-old, as she adjusts to life during that era and highlights the actions and experiences of Sumiko's neighbors and friends left behind in Seattle.

Co-published by the Wing Luke Museum and Chin Music Press, this project was funded, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program.
