Reflecting on 50 Years: Documentaries of the Vietnamese Diaspora
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, Wing Luke Museum proudly presents a double-feature of contemporary documentaries of the Vietnamese diaspora: Sàigòn to Seattle (Dir. June Nho Ivers) and The Empathizer (Dir. Fred Le), followed by a moderated discussion with the filmmakers in attendance.

Performance: Living Voices: “Within the Silence”
On our Free First Thursday, August 7 at 6:30pm, experience the impact of Japanese American incarceration during World War II—through the eyes of one young citizen navigating fear, loyalty, and identity in a time of injustice. Within the Silence blends a live solo performance with archival film to bring history to life.

DISplace (Member-Only Exhibit Opening Reception)
Co-curated by Native Hawaiian artist and kapa-maker, Lehuauakea, and artist and educator, Kanani Miyamoto, this exhibition sheds light on the often-overlooked histories and movement of people who connect Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Northwest.

TEN THOUSAND THINGS LISTENING PARTY WITH SHIN YU PAI
Meet Shin Yu Pai, curator of Ten Thousand Things, on display in the Community Portraits Gallery. In conversation with audio producer Kamna Shastri, Shin Yu will be on hand for a special listening and launch party celebrating the 4th season of her award-winning podcast Ten Thousand Things.

A&NH/PI LEGISLATIVE DAY
Join the Asian and Pacific Islander Coalition (APIC) for a day of advocacy in Olympia! On February 13th, hundreds of community members from around the state will head to Olympia for a day of meetings with our legislators to discuss issues of concern to the A&NH/PI community, including immigration justice, civil and human rights, voting rights, environmental justice, education, access to healthcare, community development, and more!

BOOK EVENT: WRITERS READ BEN MASAOKA’S “CRIMINALS'“
Join Frank Abe (We Hereby Refuse), Lucy Tan (What We Were Promised), Carla Crujido (The Strange Beautiful), Bruce Rutledge (Chin Music Press), and Dan DeWeese (Propeller Books) on Sunday, February 2 from 2-4pm for a book reading and celebration of the Ben Masaoka’s posthumously-published debut novel Criminals.

DAY OF REMEMBRANCE EVENTS
Day of Remembrance is observed on February 19 and marks the date in 1942 that President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066. Each year, Day of Remembrance events are held throughout the month and throughout the country to educate about this breach of civil liberties and to show how its lessons are relevant now.
