Wing Luke Museum presents a unique walking tour of Seattle’s former US Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) building. To understand the race-based immigration landscape of today, immerse yourself in the stories of those who lived through the very beginnings.

Approximately 1 mile of walking distance

Take a special tour through the halls of the current INScape Arts Building, the former Immigration and Naturalization Services Building that sits on the edge of our Chinatown International District neighborhood.

Retrace the paths of Seattle's immigration history from Chinese settlers and laborers, Japanese American community leaders imprisoned in 1942, to the Southeast Asian refugees navigating a new country in the 1980s.

The health and safety of our supporters, volunteers, staff, and community-at-large are of the utmost importance. We require all individuals to wear a mask over their nose and mouth during tours.

  • Travel distance? This tour covers approximately 1 mile of travel on city sidewalks with elevation changes and indoors in a historic building.

  • There is elevator access; however, some spaces will require one step down to access.

  • Restrooms? All gender restrooms available onsite at Wing Luke Museum and Women’s and Men’s restrooms at the INScape Building

  • Assistive Listening Devices? Yes

  • Capacity? 15 people per tour
