SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

Get the most out of your and your students’ educational experience with Wing Luke Museum through our year-long partnerships. Our partnerships are comprehensive school year-long programs starting with teacher professional development and coaching, classroom-to-museum curriculum integration, and student visits to the museum, which can be followed up with direct parent engagement. We have been partnering with schools and with districts including Highline Public Schools for several years, working, for example, with its entire 4th grade during the school year and its incoming middle school students during the summer.

Individual public schools and independent schools have worked with us to integrate curriculum, coaching, training, and field trips into all their grade levels and support their ELA, Social Studies, Humanities, Ethnic Studies, and Race Equity programs. We also work with college-level and graduate-level programs at several universities in academic areas, such as social work, public health, history, urban development, American Ethnic Studies, public policy, architecture, and museology.

This longer-term, deeper relationship between the museum and schools creates a more positive experience for teachers and students, with students arriving more prepared to dialogue, analyze history and explore. Teachers have expressed appreciation for how this program has made the connection to Common Core easier. During each school year, we welcome the opportunity to partner with your school and the greater community that supports your institution. We recognize that a full package may seem like a large commitment and may even be outside of some school budgets. However, we aim to provide as many learning opportunities as possible and design a partnership that better fits your school’s needs.
